  • Minion Costumes Are Not Just For Halloween!

    Dressing up as a Minion is a FUN Halloween Costume!

    Dressing up as a Minion on a cruise ship is a fantastic, fun, and easy group costume!

    I started wearing the Minion costume in January 2025 to celebrate my birthday cruise. I usually walk on the ship as a Minion and debark as a Minion. (It’s easier to walk on and off the ship with this outfit than try to squeeze it into my carry-on luggage).

    Group Costumes on Cruises are a FUN idea for your group! Whether you’re a group of 1 or 101, I always smile when I see a group of friends and family dressed up in a theme.

    • You can pick a color theme like white night, red, night, black & gold, etc.
    • You can pick your favorite Superheroes or Villains.
    • You can pick an era like 1960s, 1970s, 1980s, etc.
    • You can dress up characters from your favorite movie or TV show.
    • You can wear matching Cruise T-Shirts.

    The possibilities are only limited by your imagination.

    We are currently planning our outfits for our next VIRGIN cruise. We have outfits ready for the pajama night, Red Night, a superheroes night, a Caribbean night, a Disney night, a “Drink Around the Ship” t-shirt, and of course, my personal favorite, Minion day & night!

    When I think of Minions, I think of Blue & Yellow. For those in your group who are being “forced to participate” it’s fine dressing in the color theme. If you have jeans and a yellow shirt, Great! If you have overalls and a yellow shirt, Awesome! If you want to add the goggles and yellow beanie, you’re a ROCKSTAR!!!

    We usually wear our Minion outfit on Day 1 of our cruise. As this movement grows, you might find yourself running into other minions you can take a photo with.

    I loaned my goggles and yellow beanie to my brother on a cruise a few months ago. Since then, I have replaced the beanie with a gold hat. Minions traditionally wear black shoes, but I found yellow SpongeBob Hey Dudes to be way more fun.

    Create your Minion costume. Make it traditional or Minion-inspired. The choice is yours. Have fun with it! If you see a Minion in the wild, be sure to say hello!
